A made-to-order reclaimed scaffold board shelving unit with a raw steel framework, designed and finished in South London.
Built for homes, studios, shops, cafés and interiors looking for practical storage with natural timber character and an industrial steel finish.
The raw steel framework may show visible joining, grinding and fabrication marks. These details are part of the handmade industrial look and give each unit its own character.
The wood can be finished in different stains and the metal framework can be painted if required. Custom finishes and custom sizing are priced per project. Please contact us via the contact page to discuss your requirements.
Each shelf is made from reclaimed scaffold board, giving every unit natural variation in tone, grain and surface markings. You may see dents, small cuts, weathering, surface cracks, old fixing marks, stamped edges, colour variation or other reclaimed features. We do not use rotten or structurally damaged boards.
Some boards have letters or markings along the edge. If you would prefer boards with or without these markings, please let us know before ordering and we’ll do our best to select suitable boards.
Approximate board sizes: the finished scaffold boards used for this unit are usually around 22cm wide x 3.3cm thick. As these are reclaimed scaffold boards, sizes can vary slightly depending on the individual board, its previous use and the preparation required.
The boards used for this shelving unit are selected and finished to furniture quality. However, because they are reclaimed scaffold boards, slight bows, twists or movement can still be present. If you need perfectly straight, uniform timber, reclaimed scaffold boards may not be the best option.
Finished boards: sanded smooth and finished with multiple coats of Osmo Polyx for a durable, natural surface.
The boards are carefully prepared to remove dirt, roughness and splinters while keeping the weathered character of the timber.
Collection is available from South London.
Delivery may be available depending on item size and location. Delivery is quoted separately and is not included in the checkout price.

As this is a tall piece of furniture, we strongly recommend securing the unit to the wall for stability. Wall fixings are not included because the correct fixing depends on your wall type.
